Once upon a time, there was a woodcutter,

his wife and their seven children living near the woods.

The woodcutter was really upset beacause the king

didn’t need him to cut some wood for him with those

new machines arriving.

With that empty work year, the woodcutter became

very poor and he didn’t have enough money to

take care of his children.

One day, he decided with his wife to leave their children

in the woods as they were going to work.

They gave a piece of bread to each of their seven

children and the wife said :

“Dear children, today is a great day for you,

that’s your firt day of work !”

“Yes and without me, I’m a bit sick today,

but remember don’t forget to get back home before

the night because the wolves are really hungry these days”

added the woodcutter.

Right after this explanation, the children were

sent to a strange place far far away in the woods

and their parents went back home with the hope

that their children would never come back.

But they were not thinking about Tom Thumb,

the seventh, the smallest and the smartest

of the seven children who had made a path

with his bread to find his way back home !

You will say that Tom is a fool because the birds

would eat the bread but NO !

He already has read the story and he was

waiting for the birds behind a tree.

When they arrive, he threw a big stone right

at the head of a big bird and he killed

two birds with one stone as he sold the

dead bird to the king and came back home

with a bunch of gold !

The woodcutter was really delighted with his

pretended favorite son.

Tom was really selfish and didn’t take care of

the six other children who where undoubtedly

eaten by the wolves.

He went back home and the little family of three

were rich and lived happily ever after !
