There once was a mommy peacock who had run off into the brush.

She was sitting on her only egg – which she cared about so much.

Mother peacock was made fun of, ridiculed galore

By other peahens in her party who claimed she looked so dull and was a bore.

“Who’d even want to look at you? Be gone, git, shoo

We want nothing further with you to do.”
