My name is Roei, I live in the US and I work for a big shoe company. now I am going to Japan for a trip to look at local manners, food and special museums.
I am in mixed emotions going there because I know it will be an amazing one time experience but on the way there, being on a busy ocean going liners with peoples I don’t know, it is scary.

On my second day on the ship, I started meeting interesting people but the one who cought my eyes the most was a guy named Mr. Kelada. He was dark skinned, had a flashy hooked nose and big eyes (looked from the middle east) but I heard he was using very fancy toiletries.

I never thought I would have a such a great time on the ship. It’s all thanks to that Mr. Kelada. He arranged a party with cocktails and a singing contest. We all danced and sang on the deck until we couldn’t walk. I still have no idea how he managed to get alcohol despite the Prohibition.

My fifth day on the ship wasn’t going good.
I argued with Mr Kelada about about a play a saw a month ago and as I learned the hard way, I lost the bet and with it some of my respect I gained in the ship.

The next few days were pretty quiet on the ship, I was siting most of the time with a nice Englishman who had good manners (the narrator) and the doctor of the ship. we all liked these relaxed days when we did nothing and enjoyed our time on the ship.

last night, something strange happened, Max kelada lost a bet. It was during dinner and we all had nice time eating, talking and laughing. suddenly, the subject of the conversation changed to pearls. I didn’t know much about it but I did know that there are real pearls and fake pearls.

When Mr. Kelada heard the subject, as was his habit, he rushed the new topic. He told us all that was to be known about pearls. I could not believe that he was so familiar with the subject. suddenly, he stared at Mrs. Ramsey’s necklace and told us “that chain you’re wearing will never be worth a cent less than it is now.”

We were all shocked. We couldn’t believe what he just said. Poor Mrs. Ramsey got a real pearls necklace?
Then Mr. Ramsey interrupted us and said his wife paid only 18 bucks for it. Mr. Kelada then said he was at the pearls trade and wanted to bet 100$ with Mr. Ramsey about the true value of the necklace. He examined the necklace and found it was real (I could tell that by the smile on his face), but he looked at Mrs Ramsey and fought himself what to say. He eventually said it was fake (I don’t know why) and he lost the bet and everything he has worked for on the ship.

After that all the passengers on the ship had quiet time. We were all surprised that Mr. kelada AKA “Mr. Know All” lost a bet. When we retired to the rooms, I tried to start a conversation with Mr kelada but he didn’t follow my lead. I think that he was so depressed he didn’t want to talk to anyone.

The next morning I heard a funny story. The Englishman who lives with Mr Kelada found an envelope for Mr.kelada under the door and gave it to him. I heard he was very surprised to get a letter and he was even more surprised when he opened it. Inside was a 100$ bill. suddenly I thought about last night and understood the big picthure. I understood that Max Kelada was right about the necklace, I understood that Mr. Ramsey wasn’t the innesent woman we thought she was, I understood why Mr. kelada lost the bet and finally I understood that there is no reson to hate the intelegent pearle trader Max kelada.
