Sports in Israel is an important part of Israel’s national culture

Israeli sports culture is similar in many respects to that of European countries, apart from the relatively low achievements in European sports

Football and basketball are considered the most popular sports in Israel.

Sailing is the most successful sport in the history of the State of Israel and has eight gold medals and one in the Olympic Games and is the only one until now.

Then there’s the judo with one gold medal and a silver medal in European games and it’s the only one until now.

The Maccabiah Games are an international Jewish sporting event similar to the Olympics and take place in Israel every four years. The Maccabiah began in 1932 and continues to this day.

The most important event that took place in Maccabiah was that the son of the Brazilian Ronaldo, known as God, visited Israel and played in Maccabiah

My personal subject-Hapoel Beer Sheva

Hapoel Beer Sheva is an Israeli football club that plays in the Israeli Premier League. The club has been  existence since 1949, and since 2007 it has been run by Alona Barkat.
Throughout the years, the team has won four championships, one state trophy, four Toto trophies and four champion trophies.
Today Hapoel Beer Sheva is the best team in the country when it has won two championships in the last two years.

Israeli Basketball Premier League

Ligat HaAl or the Israeli Premier League, is the top tier level league of basketball competition in Israel, making it Israel’s primary basketball competition. Ligat HaAl comprises the top twelve basketball clubs, and was founded in 1954.

The current teams in the Premier League are: Hapoel Gilboa Galil, Bnei Herzliya, Hapoel Eilat, Hapoel Gilboa Galil, Hapoel Holon, Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Maccabi Ashdod, Maccabi Haifa, Maccabi Rishon LeZion, Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Maccabi Kiryat Gat

Liga Leumit

Liga Leumit is the second tier level league of basketball competition.

The league contains 14 clubs that compete in a home-and-away round-robin. At the end of the season, the top eight clubs advance to the play-offs. The first round is played on a best-of-three basis. The four winning clubs advance to two best-of-five playoffs, the winners of which are promoted to the Super League. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the table are relegated to Liga Artzit.

Liga Artzit

Liga Artzit is the third tier level league of basketball competition. The league contains 24 clubs (in two districts of 12 teams each one), which compete in a home-and-away round-robin. At the end of the season, the first team from each district (South/North) is promoted to the Liga Leumit. The two teams that finish at the bottom of the table are relegated to Liga Alef.

Mifal HaPais

is the national lottery of Israel. Most gambling is illegal in Israel. The only bodies licensed to provide betting services are Mifal HaPais and The Israeli Sports Betting Council. In 2012, Mifal HaPais’s annual revenue was estimated at ₪5,000,000,000 a year.

Mifal HaPais was established in August 1951 to recruit funding for the construction of a hospital in Tel Aviv. At first, the project’s profits were used only for healthcare applications. Later on, when Mifal HaPais became a national lottery organization, its support was extended to projects in the fields of education, recreation, and the arts.

Mifal HaPais supports the establishment of children’s clinics, hospitals, sport halls, study rooms and school buildings, youth activity and adult education centers, culture halls, the performing arts, and public parks.

the leagues manager

The  leagues manager is the body that coordinates the activities of professional soccer leagues in Israel since 2014.

It was established by the leading leagues in Israel (the Premier League and the National League) in cooperation with the Israel Football Association.

The principal is a private non-profit company. Ownership of the shares is the teams participating in the competitions of the Premier League and the National League, where each game season each team is given a share that reflects their position in these leagues. The board of directors has 18 members who have voting rights that reflect the location of the clubs they represent. In addition, the manager and the management committee, which consists of seven directors, outline its ongoing activities.

Wingate Institute

In Israel there is a training place for sports called at the Wingate Institute. The Institute is used for training and games mainly for Israel teams and for games between teams.

The Institute has sports fields of all kinds and all sports

It is named after Orde Charles Wingate

And is located on the southwestern border of Netanya
