is an African-American Baptist pastor, non-violent activist for black civil rights in the United States,

for peace and against poverty.

In 1955, he became the leader of the support movement for Rosa Parks(see page 1).

In 1963, he led major campaigns for civil rights, black voting rights and the end of segregation.

He’s been arrested several times.

In his speech of 28 August 1963,”I have a dream”,

in front of 250,000 people, he launched an appeal for a country

Rosa PARKS

Rosa Parks is an African-American woman who became an emblematic figure in the fight

against racial segregation in the United States in 1955.

She refused to give up her seat to a white man on the Montgomery Boycott bus

and for that she had to pay for an almond.

She was among the first people to rebel in order to obtain the same civil rights as whites.
