Within a community there are many people who provide different good and services for the residents of the community.

Goods typically refer to items that people can buy like food, clothing, toys, etc.  Services are actions that people do for others.

There are several services offered in the Cortland community.  The professors at SUNY Cortland provide a great service by helping college students obtain degrees.  Their services include teaching courses, advising students of what classes they will need to take, and offering further career guidance.  Professors help college students arrive at their career of choice!

The Cortland Police Department also provides exceptional services to the Cortland community.  They work everyday to ensure that Cortland is a safe community for all residents.  They are responsible for responding to calls, enforcing laws, and issuing citations. They help maintain the order of the Cortland community.

There are also jobs focused on providing goods to others.  In the Cortland community, Moe’s Southwest Grill is a well-known restaurant that produces and sells delicious Mexican food to customers. They sell burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, salads, and more! You can eat at the restaurant or take it to go.

Walmart Supercenter is another well-known supplier of goods in Cortland. They sell groceries, household supplies, jewelry, clothing, along with a vast variety of other merchandise! This Walmart Supercenter is located off of Route 13 in Cortland and is open 24 hours a day.
