Who are the Amish?

The Amish are a community of Christian peoples who live in North America. They are known for simple living, traditional clothes and don’t use modern technology.

What is their origin?

The Amish came from Germany and Switzerland. They escaped from those countries to North America because there was less discrimination there.

Their transportation:

Instead of normal transportation (cars, trains, buses..) they use carriages and horses.

Education:

At the beginning the children went to regular schools, but when those schools began to develop in ways that the Amish didn’t like, they decided to open their own school. At the Amish school they learn until age 12-13  together, and then they stop learning and start to work in the field.
