Who Are The Amish?
The Amish are a group of traditionalist Christian church fellowships with Swiss German Anabaptist origins.
The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, and reluctance to adopt many conveniences of modern technology.
Where Do They Live?
They live in the USA in 22 States and in Ontario in Canada
Prince Edward Is. , New Brunswick , Bolivia and in Argentina.
What Is Their Origin?
The Amish came from Switzerland and Germany.
The Lifstyle Of The Amish:
They live in close communities, They live a very simple life and they dont use any technological products , they also don’t use cars.
most of the Amish people are farmers.
What the Amish wear:
The girls wear modest dresess, an apron and a black or white hats. They don’t wear jewelry.
The Boys wear suits, black shoes and socks and a wide brimmed hat in black.
What are Amish homes like?
Amish homes are built with spacious main rooms, suitable for large gatherings. There is no electrical power in some of their homes.
What jobs do the Amish do?
They are Farmers, build homes, make blankets, produce furniture and more…
The Amish family life:
Amish couples may have 10 children or more.
the husband is considered the head of the household, his wife his “helpmeet”.
The family is very important to the Amish people.
The Amish education:
They are learning in a school until they are 12.
Today, in the Amish community, they support having One-Room-Schoolhouses, for their students, with about thirty students per classroom.
The religious life:
They don’t have prayer house.
They meet once in two weeks to pray.
they have religious leaders. The Amish pick thier own leaders.
The holy book of the Amish is the bible.
The amish transpotation:
They drive a horse and a buggy, carriages and pony carts.
why did they choose to live like that?
The Amish live by choice in accordance to a set of rules based on how they view biblical scripture.
By doing this, the Amish choose to do and not do certain things.
