Tell Me How You Look – with Vivien Thierry and Geraldine Aresteanu, at Kinnernet Italia 2015

One of the many amazing workshops at Kinnernet Italia 2015 was the portrait session. The artist, Vivien Thierry,  sat back-to-back with the subjects, and listened as they told him “how they looked”. 

He then proceeded to draw their portrait without having seen them. 

Of course I participated. I mean, who wouldn’t? 

His partner, Geraldine Aresteanu, took amazing photos of the subject, after they had been drawn. She is also an amazing artist in her own right.

At the end of the conference, they exhibited their wares for all to see. It was remarkable. Not the likeness (that too, in many cases) as much as the idea, the audacity, the kinship, the spirit.
