The spadefoot toad tadpoles eat each other. So do a lot of other animals. They do it for reasons that appear to make sense to humans. I wonder whether human cannabalism (as well as  gratuitous cruelty between humans and humans) would make similar sense to animals. I think that a twin lesson on human cannabalism is needed to ‘flesh this out’.
