INTRODUCTION

Hundreds of thousands of years ago humans discovered fire. Tens of thousands of years ago they discovered clothing, tools, and navigation, and invented languages and writing. The internet and digital era are very recent inventions. Where will they take us? What are the secrets of creative inventors? Are you prepared to be one?

LESSON 1 – THE SECRETS OF CREATIVE THINKING

In this lesson we learn how inventors really come up with ideas and put into practice techniques that help us come up with ideas of our own! We will discuss the opportunities that the digital era has created for innovators around the world.

LESSON TWO – Are you ready to be an entrepreneur? Are you prepared? We go over every aspect of coming up with a disruptive idea and developing digital (or other) product, services and technologies.

We will learn to ask the right questions about inventions, looking at the strengths and weaknesses, the intended use, technological hurdles, ease of user onboarding and market education and research.

LESSON THREE – THE PERSONAL TOUCH

More and more, it is our personal skills that enable us to network, communicate our ideas and seek collaboration and investment. What are the secrets of successful first meetings, networking and presentation?

In this lesson we learn about and practice the success tips of the first meeting, negotiations, interviews, pitches and presentations.

LESSON FOUR – LEARNING FROM FAILURE. Most inventions and disruptive technologies are born of mistakes, experiments that went wrong, chance observations. In this lesson we learn how inventors learn from mistakes and develop them into leading products.

LESSON FIVE

Virtual trip to Rothschild Boulevard (tentative) to visit the headquarters of Startup Nation Central and hear their account of the success of Israeli technologies.

Treasure hunt along the boulevard which promotes initiative and fosters “Get to know the Israeli innovation system”.

LESSON SIX – PRESENTATIONS AND SUMMARY

During the course each student will have worked on an innovative project. In this class each student will have the opportunity to present and pitch his/her project to the class. We will discuss each presentation, carry out virtual crowd funding and summarize the various aspects of the workshop.
