Dear Diary,
The war is finally over, we were able to get the Japanese to surrender. To do so, we had to drop 2 nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and until that point we suffered severe casualties. I lost so many friends in that bloody war. I was their commander, but the war made us brothers. At the beginning of the war I was the commander of 120 brave man that were willing to sacrifice their lives for their country, and at the end of it we were only 47 damaged pieces of bones and flash with damaged souls that wished they could come back to their families. During the war I received a message, I was told my brother went missing, and I was sure that he will be found alive. Larry was born to be a pilot. He holds a such a rare killer instinct that I have never seen before. There was no doubt in my that he will be able to survive somehow. But every day that passes makes me accept the terrible possibility that Larry is dead. My father and especially my mother are absolutely sure that he is still alive. Although I am not in my best shape, I need take responsibility and keep everyone sane by not showing vulnerability and act like I am just fine. It will be hard but I must do it. I feel so sorry for Ann. She must be completely devastated not only because of her father is in jail but also because of her future husband is probably dead. I have to talk to her and see how she is doing.
