Catherine came to Bly to work as a housekeeper.

Catherine was accepted to work as a guardian of two young children, the girl was called Flora and the boy was called Miles.

Their father left them and now he lives far away from them. He left because the children interrupted him to concentrate while working.
That is why every time he sends his maids to look after them, to look on their safety and especially to entertain them.
Whenever the father sent a new assistant, he gave her a clear instruction, not to call him unless it was an emergency.
When Catherine saw the girl for the first time, she honestly thought she had a special magic that could not be explained, the girls instantly bonded and Catherine loved the girl very much.

The cleaner and Flora welcomes Catherine when she first arrived

Catherine met Miles for the first time when he returned from a summer school where he spent about  two months.
When he returned, he brought a letter with him that his principal had sent, a letter that Miles had often insulted his classmates and involved in violence.
Because of his behavior, Mills will not be able to return to this school next year.
Catherine asked the cleaner who was with them for many years if this is the typical behavior of Miles usually. The cleaner told her that it is not typical at all for Miles to behave like this, that he is a good boy who always loves and laughs and she has never heard him say bad things.
When Katherine first saw Miles straight, she saw something magical about him as well as his sister, and they soon bonded as well.

Catherine meets Miles for the first time

One day, Catherine was in the kitchen.

Suddenly she looked out through the window and saw a stranger standing near her and not moving. She tried to talk to him but he did not answer.
She was very scared so she went to get the phone that was in the next room, and a second after she turned around the stranger was no longer there, he was gone.

She then went looking for him but she couldn’t find him anywhere.
She later asked the cleaner about him, she described him to her exactly how she remembered.

The cleaner was in the market, she explained to Catherine that the person she described was Flora and Miles’ uncle who they loved very much.

He died about two years ago, he had a wife who died with him in a car accident when he returned from a home visit. Their names was Quit and Jessel.

Catherine and the cleaner investigated and finally concluded that they were coming back here as ghosts.

After the ghosts were discovered, Catherine and the cleaner did not know if Flora and Miles could see the ghosts as Katrine managed to see them.
One day,Catherine and Flora went to the lake. At first, Flora was happy and was picking flowers.
Suddenly she got serious and looked at something, her beautiful face became almost ugly and she didn’t have a look of an angel.
Catherine turned to see what had happened and saw Miss Jessel, she realized that Flora and Mills could see them too.
Catherine quickly pulled Flora over to her and hid her to protect her from Miss Jessel’s influence.

After this case, Flora no longer loved Catherine the way she once loved her and yelled at her and cursed her as she has never cursed her before. After that, Catherine decided that in order to protect Flora, she had to go with the cleaner to her father’s house. Catherine was left with Miles in Bly to try and so solve the ghosts issue once and for all.

After Flora left the house and went to her father’s house, everywhere Catherine went with, she too Miles with her in order to keep him safe from the ghosts.
One day, Catherine was with Miles in her bedroom and suddenly Miles looked at the window and didn’t move.
Catherine looked out the window and saw the ghosts standing and watching Miles.

Catherine did as the cleaner told her to do and expel the ghosts once they arrived, and they were gone

Catherine looked back and saw Miles lying on the floor.
She looked and saw that he was not breathing, and soon after he was dead.

After a few days Catherine finally realized that Miles and Flora were under the control of the Quit and Jessel’s ghosts and they died when she expelled the ghosts.
