Hi, my name is Aislyn. My family and I are from Alaska, So I will put Alaskan recipes as a bonus. My family moved to Washington to be closer to family. We are living with my Nana until we can buy a home. So I will be putting my Nana’s recipes in here too.

 

We always have a big meal for dinner such as, Potatoes, Meats, Jello, etc. We love Jello.

 

I hope you love our recipes, and enjoy.

RECIPE

spinach, ham and cheese omelette

This dish reminds me every morning when my dad cooks it.

 

Ingredients:

4 large eggs

4 slices lunch meat ham( thin cut)

1/2 cup of milk

1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

2 cups of spinach

salt and pepper

butter

 

In a bowel mix milk,eggs salt and pepper and bled together.

in a medium frying pan add butter,egg mixture and lightly cook till able to flip over. Once flipped add lunch meat,cheese,spinach and fold in half and cooked till cheese is melted. Serve with salsa or syrup and enjoy!

RECIPE

FRENCH TOAST

This dish reminds me when I first tried cooking it with my dad.

 

Ingredients:

3 eggs

1/4 cup milk

1/2 tsp Vanilla

2 tbs cinnamon

powder sugar

butter

syrup

fruit

bread

Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, in a bowel. Take the bread and put it in the mixed ingredients in the bowel. Cover the bread in the ingredients. Then put butter in the pan on medium heat. Then put the bread in the pan, till golden brown on each side. Serve with butter, syrup, powder sugar, and fruit, and ENJOY!!!

SALAD

This dish reminds me of my mom because she loves salad she got it all the time at Subway.

 

Ingredients:

Lettuce

Pickles

Tomatoes

Cucumbers

Carrots

Salt & Pepper

Grapes

A dressing of your choice

Sunflower seeds

 

 

Wash all of the vegetables, and fruit. Cut them up, mix all ingredients and serve, and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

SANDWICH

This dish reminds me when family is over for lunch and we eat outside and then after lunch we go swim in my Nana’s backyard pool.

 

Ingredients:

2 slices of toasted bread

Lettuce

Cheese

Lunch meat

Tomatoes

1 Pickle

 

 

Toast your 2 slices of bread, add your lettuce, cheese, lunch meat, tomatoes, 1 pickle, serve and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

PIGS IN A BLANKET

This dish reminds me when I used to cook the hot dogs over a fire and then my dad made dough and put it on the hot dog and cooked it with it.

 

Ingredients:

1 pkg Pillsbury breakfast biscuit

1 pkg cheddar better hot dogs

Thyme

sauce: ketchup, mustard, mayo

 

350 degrees cook temp baking sheet (greased) roll out biscuit enough to cover hot dog, sprinkle thyme on biscuit center hot dog on biscuit. Roll biscuit over hot dog and pinch edges, put in oven with biscuits on a greased baking sheet until golden brown. While baking pigs in a blanket mix 1/8 cup of mayo 1 tbsp mustard, 2 tbsp ketchup, when pigs in a blanket are done put sauce on plate and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

TOP RAMEN

This dish reminds me when my cousin taught me a easy and faster way how to do it instead of cooking it in a pot.

 

Ingredients:

Top Ramen

celery

carrots

lettuce

 

 

 

Take your top ramen and put it in a plastic bowel with little bit of water, put it in the microwave for 5 minutes. When it’s done take it out and open the spice packet and pour it in the top ramen. Stir, the cut thin slices of the carrots and the celery and put it in the top ramen. Serve and ENJOY!!!

DINNER

SPAGHETTI

This dish reminds me when I surprised my mom that I could make spaghetti all by myself.

 

Ingredients:

Lb ground beef 80/20

1 box spaghetti noodles

1 Portobello mushroom

Can of black olives

Salt

Pepper

Basil

Thyme

Chopped garlic

Powder ginger

1 sweet onion

Worcestershire sauce

Butter

1 jar of spaghetti sauce

 

In a large pot boil spaghetti noddles with tbs salt until noodles are just under cooked, strain when done. In a large pan melt 2 tbs of butter, add 2 tbs of chopped garlic, 1 chopped onion, salt, basil, thyme, add powder ginger. Add ground beef, Worcestershire sauce and 1 portabella mushroom diced, add 1 jar of spaghetti sauce and chopped black olives. Cook until meat is done, add noodles to plate, pour sauce and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

STEAK/SALAD

This dish reminds me when my dad burnt it on the grill, it was black all over but I asked my dad if I could try it, and it was so good I mean really good and it was still juicy, but I love the burnt taste.

 

Marinade

Garlic, onion powder, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, ginger, paprika, nutmeg, course ground pepper.

 

1 cup Worcestershire sauce/soy sauce

1/2 cup chopped garlic

1 tbs onion powder

1 tbs ginger

1 tbs black pepper

1 tsp thyme, paprika

1 pinch nutmeg

 

Mix in gallon zip lock bag add marinade and meat and refrigerate 2 days. Preheat oven 450 degrees. In a large cook top/oven safe pan add 1/2 cup vegetable oil to pan on high. Brown meat on both sides and then slide pan in oven for 10 minutes, after 10 minutes put oven on high Broil and DON’T WALK AWAY!!! watch meat until brown bits become dark but Not Burnt! Take out of oven let rest on a cutting board for 15 minutes. Cut into stripes. Then make your own salad. Serve and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

STUFFED PEPPERS

This dish reminds me when my dad tried to make these for the first time, I don’t like the stuffed peppers but everybody else does.

 

Ingredients:

4 bell peppers (large)

1 box Mexican rice

1 portabella mushroom (diced)

1 tbs diced garlic

1/2 stick butter

1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce

shredded cheese

1 can chill beans in red sauce

 

Lets put it together. Oven 350 degrees, in a pot follow directions on Rice Ron box. Core the bell peppers by cutting around the top of the peppers and clean out all seeds. Put cored peppers in a glass casserole pan and set it a side for now. In a frying pan melt 1/2 stick butter, add chopped mushrooms, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and fry till mushrooms are a little golden bits. Pour in 1 can of chilled beans and the Mexican rice with the mushroom mixture and cook and combine till incorporated. Fill pepper to the top with mixture and top off the shredded cheese. Bake at 350 degrees until peppers are soft to touch and cheese is melted and golden, serve and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

CHICKEN TACOS

This dish reminds me when we were back in Alaska and my dad would bake them for dinner on the weekends.

 

Ingredients:

Chicken

Tortilla shells (flour)

Chopped bag salad

2 tbs diced garlic

1/2 sweet onion

tbs thyme

1 cup soy sauce

1 cup Worcestershire sauce

sour cream

shredded cheese

1 lime

Mermaid chicken

in a bag add chopped meat, diced garlic, sweet onion, thyme, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, put in fridge for overnight.

 

In a fry pan cook meat and sauce till meat is fully cooked on medium high. Once meat is cooked put on plate and wipe off fry pan with paper towel so you can toast tortilla shells. Put tortilla shell in pan and heat both sides for 30 seconds a side.

Now make your taco how you want it and ENJOY!!!

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

This dessert reminds me when I baked them for my next door neighbors.

 

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened

3/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 cups Chocolate chips

 

Heat oven 375 degrees. In a large mixer bowl cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until very lightly browned. Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet onto wire rack. Cool completely. Serve and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

ICE CREAM SMOOTHIE

 

This reminds me when me and my Nana used to go out for shakes when I was little, but now I can’t COVID-19!!!

 

Ingredients:

1 8 oz pkg berries

1 cup strawberry ice cream or any ice cream of your choice,

1/2 cup of whipped topping

 

Put ice cream, whipped topping, and berries in a blender, blend till smooth if you want it thinner add some ice cubes. Serve and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

APPLE CRISP

This dessert reminds me when my Nana used to bake it all the time for dessert after dinner.

 

Ingredients:

6 golden delicious apples

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon cloves

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons lemon juice

 

Combine sugar, cinnamon, cloves, lemon juice, apples, in a bowl mix together and pour it in a 8 inch bakery dish.

 

Topping:

1/2 cup sugar, white or brown

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup of butter

1/2 cup nuts (oatmeal nuts)

3/4 cup sifted flour

 

Mix until crumble and pour over apple mixture bake at 375 for 45 minutes, cool and serve and ENJOY!!!

RECIPE

BROWNIES

This dessert reminds me when my babysitter baked them for me when I was little.

 

Ingredients:

1 cup plus 3 tablespoons butter

3/4 cup baking cocoa

4 eggs

2 cups sugar

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

FROSTING:

6 tablespoons butter softened

2 2/3 cups powder sugar

1/2 cup baking cocoa

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 to 1/3 cup milk

 

Baking the brownies:

In a saucepan, melt butter. Remove from the heat. Stir in cocoa, cool. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Combine flour, baking powder and salt, gradually add to egg mixture. Stir in vanilla and the cooled chocolate mixture. Mix well. Spread into a greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. (Do not over bake). Cool on wire rack. For frosting, in a mixing bowl, cream butter, powder sugar, cocoa and vanilla. Add enough milk until the frosting achieves spreading consistency. Spread over brownies. Cut into bars. Serve and ENJOY!!!
