George, Harris, and Jerome met in the evening to pack for their journey. Jerome told them that he was very good at packing, so George and Harris happily sat and watched him pack.
In this picture, Jerome was surprised to see that this was their response. He didn’t mean that he would pack the bags. He meant that he would tell them how to pack the bags.
Jerome didn’t say anything, but he was a little angry.
George, Harris, and Jerome had planned to have a swim in the river in the morning. Jerome didn’t want to swim but he decided to have a wash in the river.
The morning was very cold so he decided not to have a wash in the river this morning.
In this picture, Jerome started to walk back to the boat, but then he slipped. SPLASH!
George took out his banjo. He really wanted to learn how to play the banjo but every time he started to play the banjo, Harris became very angry. Even at home nobody wanted to listen to him.
In this picture, George tried to learn how to play the banjo, and the dog whose name is Montmorency was sitting next to him and howl. It was a terrible experience for Harris.
George, Harris, and Jerome went shopping after breakfast. They bought enough food for three days. They told the shopkeepers in each shop to bring the food to their boat.
In this picture, there was a group of boys with baskets that followed them from shop to shop. The boys were looked surprised. George, Harris, and Jerome bought a lot of food so the group of boys expected to see a steam-launch, not a small growing boat with a sail.
