The Heroic Story:
Son of Hanna and Joseph Samuel. Born in the year 1850 in Hungary. His father, a wise and well-known disciple, served as a rabbinate in the city of Sabad, Hungary and when he immigrated to Israel was among the heads of the Hungarian community. The family lived outside the Old City walls, in the “Mishkenot Sha’ananim” neighborhood. At night he did not stop learning. The year was a blessed year in the rains that filled every cistern in the courtyards, and the Jewish residents of the city were not forced to buy water in full money from the residents of Silwan. The Arabs, who saw their livelihood dropping out of their hands, began raiding Jewish homes, robbing and robbing their property. On the first day of the month of Tevet (January 1873), several Arabs broke into the family home. Aaron stopped studying, smuggled them, chased them, and tried to catch them. The Arabs who were afraid they would be identified by him shot him. Aaron was hit by 12 bullets and transferred To the hospital. On Friday, Tevet 5761 (5.1.173), he died of his wounds and was brought to rest in the Cemetery on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Left a widow, daughter, parents, and siblings.
