He had warned her about the book now it was too late. Debra was reading her new book in her bed. She kept on reading and reading. Her book was about a battle between the people and the monsters. The monsters were Phoenixes, Dragons, and Griffins. The leader’s name of the dragons was Deathbringer. After reading the entire book, Debra fell asleep. Debra had a nightmare that she was one of the people in battle. When she woke up, she went to the mirror to check if she had scratches and bruises on her face. When Debra looked, she saw some gashes across her face. Debra freaked out. She went to her mom and said, “Mom I woke up and then I had gashes on my face.” Her mom screamed, “How did you get those scratches across your face?” Debra explained what happened to her mother.

When she finished, her mother seemed to understand and said, “There back.”  “Who’s back?” asked Debra. Her mother said nothing. She was as still as a statue.  Debra was scared that her mother knew about this. She asked, “Do you know about this?” Her mom told her to go to her room. Debra opened her mouth to protest but then she heard a loud wush! It sounded like something flew past them. Her mom looked so frightened she fainted. “Mom,” Debra screamed. Debra was scared but she knew she had to see this thing. She ran out to her backyard and nothing was there. This was strange because she heard something a second ago. This thing is fast. She swore she saw a golden and red pair of wings. She went back to her house. This could only mean one thing. She had to go to her mother’s room of secrets.

Debra went to her mom’s Room of Secrets. It was pitch black and full of webs. Then she saw a lamp with a scroll on a desk. Debra wondered what was in the scroll. She went to the scroll. She saw these words hawasheda komoseceriasche. Debra spoke those words. She felt something like the earth shook like something big was unleashed.  Debra was freaked out. She ran in the darkness till she bumped something. She felt scared. She looked down and saw a bird that had red and golden wings. Debra was so scared. She touched it. Then it fell to the floor, and then she heard a screech!!!! Debra looked down and saw the bird but this time it was alive.

Chapter 2

The bird was walking in Debra’s basement and was just doing nothing. The bird screeched again. Debra jumped at the sound of it. The bird screeched one last time but Debra heard it saying, “My name is Death hawk. I can destroy people with my fire.”  Debra got scared and she asked, “What species are you?” Death hawk answered, “I’m a species called a Phoenix.”

Debra was terrified because that was one of the monsters from her book. Maybe this is because she read the book. She remembered this phoenix from her book. Death hawk was a good guy and he blew up deathbringer. Debra asked, “Where did you come from?” Death hawk said, “I come from somewhere called the Lost City of Night. It is a place where us monsters lived for thousands of years till a vortex came. Only the worst of the monsters lived. There were phoenixes, griffins, and dragons. But these phoenixes were bad. They wanted to wage war with the people and only I chose to be on your Side.”

Debra asked, “Then why did you make my mom faint? What was that about?” Deathhawk answered, “I did it so she won’t be worried about you.” “Wait, where am i going?” Debra asked. Deathhawk answered, “You’re going to a place called Dabatia. It is not on a map. We have to travel through something called dark matter.” Debra was scared because she might be away from her mother for so long. Debra got courage and said, “Let’s go.”

Chapter 3

They finally left. They were soaring in the air and about to move upward. There was one problem, she was afraid of heights. She put her face into the birds’ back. It was as fluffy as a bed. She did that for about an hour or so. Finally, Deathhawk muttered, “We are approaching.” Debra was happy to be on an adventure. But worried for her mom. Debra finally saw land. This was no regular land, it was a forest. Debra had never seen one so big. She only saw little ones because she lived in Florida. This one was like 450,000,000 acres long. It looked as big as a continent.

Debra asked, “How did we get here?” Deathhawk answered, “We traveled through dark matter. I can travel at the speed of light so you can not see that.” Debra was surprised. After a minute or two they landed. Deathhawk said, “follow me.” Debra said, “ok.” They traveled through the forest. The leaves and branches were hitting Debra in the chest. After a while Debra saw a trap door. Deathhawk opened it and they went inside.

It was quiet there. There was silence. This place gave Debra the creeps. The only light here was the glow of the phoenix. Because of that, Debra saw some foot prints. Debra asked, “ Where are we?” Deathhawk answered, we are in the combachi, the place of the dragons. It looks like the dragons moved away with the eggs. There still might be more. Up there is not part of combachi. They must have followed their leader’s deathbringer.

Chapter 4

While that was happening Debra’s mom got up from the couch and went looking for Debra. She went to check in her room and in Debra’s room. Her mom couldn’t find her. Because that happened she will have to show her true form. Now Debra’s mom was not human. She was a highly intelligent alien that could take the form of a human. She thought about if she should reveal her secret. She could just take the form of another person. The reason she fainted is because of that tricky bird Deathhawk.

Legend says that there was this bird named Deathhawk. He was a Phoenix. At this time it was ruled with magical animals. One day a dragon named Deathbringer said, “This place should be ruled by only dragons and make all other living things slaves.” They had one bird at their side. His name was Deathhawk. There were few humans at the time. The first stage was killing all humans. The dragons told Deathhawk to kill them with the fireballs by sneaking to their houses. Deathhawk came and killed all humans except for 12 of them. Those twelve escaped on 12 phoenixes. Six of them made it safely to Earth and the other six got sucked into dark matter and became highly intelligent aliens known as Fain. The humans on Earth became legend as the first six. They had descendants which came to people.

Debra’s Mom, known as Ricochet in her alien world, thought of what happened to the alien beings. She remembered that the alien had descendants but very few of them. There are only eight descendants left. The others have died in war. Two of them are Debra and Ricochet. Ricochet took the form of a Phoenix and took off after her daughter. She had to wrap her head around that problem.

Chapter 5

Debra and Deathhawk were exploring the place. Debra saw a skull and she screamed. Dead skeletons were on the floor. The skeletons made lonely company, but at least she had Deathhawk. Deathhawk screamed, “These are where the dragons’ feasts are. I’m with them. And I brought you half Fain so we could feast on  you and kill you.” Debra asked, “ What do you mean Fain?” Deathhawk answered, “ So your mom didn’t tell you she was Fain and your father was a regular human.” Debra thought,   I’m going to get out of here. I just need a plan. Should I destroy Deathhawk? Debra wanted to call out to her mom. She shouldn’t destroy Deathhawk because she felt like there were more creatures here. Especially dragons.

Suddenly she heard a movement. Many movements. She looked to her right then left. What she saw made her flinch. She wondered why her mom had this guy. What she saw good made anybody faint but she didn’t. There were five dragons towering over her. She turned to Deathhawk and asked, “How did you get in my mom’s room?” Deathhawk answered, “Well, because you read the book you gave us a portal to go through.”

Debra thought this was all her fault. She asked the dragons, “ What is your name?” They answered, “I’m G’reth, G’oreal, Gwillan, Racheki, and Deathbringer.” When that name was spoken the Earth rumbled. Debra wanted to go away. She was freaked out of her mind. What would her friends do? She wondered.

Chapter 6

Ricochet was still desperately looking for her daughter Debra. She and Debra were descendants of the main highly intelligent alien known as the Fain. Debra has some great powers but she just doesn’t know them yet. She looked up and she saw the island of Combachi. Deathhawk must have taken her there.

Ricochet went into diving mode and flew down at 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000miles per hour. She was 5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, kilometers high. She landed with a graceful THUMP!!! She got up and turned into mother form. She walked into the forest.

Ricochet was worried for her daughter. If Deathbringer was there she would have to destroy him. The last battle was five thousand years ago. It was a brutal battle. If Deathbringer is still alive that means we have to start another war: humans and Fain against the dragons, phoenixes, and griffins. I just hope we don’t have another battle, she thought. Suddenly something attacked her. She didn’t know what it was until a familiar voice yelled, “What are you doing here Ricochet?” It was her friend, Abochichi. “I’m here to save my daughter.” she answered.

Chapter 7

Debra was so scared. Deathbringer had these orange eyes. He had a black scaly body and spikes at the end of his tail. The other four were the same but Deathbringer had these white dots under his wing. Debra was curious why he was the only one wearing those dots.

Suddenly Deathhawk started laughing. “What’s the matter,” Debra asked. Death answered, “Well it’s wonderful to tell you. I brought you here so we can come and drain your soul. We will also tear you to bits to make your death more painful. We will drain out your soul because you are descended from Fain. That will make us more powerful!! Like all these people, they were once Fain. And you and your mom are the only ones left.”

Deathhawk kept laughing. I gotta get out of here. But how will I? Debra thought. She looked for any weak spots. She looked at Deathbringer’s body and then the other dragons. Then she looked at Deathhawk. About what he said. Does that mean he’s a dragon? She jumped forward and muttered, “Hey, Deathhawk does this mean you’re a dragon and you can transform into a Phoenix?” “Very well. You figured it out you clever girl.” He choked then spit a fireball at her.

Chapter 8

The fire burned her skin to ashes. Pain flowed through her body. She felt like she was going to die. Be like one of those skeletons. Debra’s life flashed before her eyes and then boom. The whole place exploded. The dragons Deathhawk and Debra nearly exploded. Right before the explosion. Debra’s mom flew down and saved her. Debra was alive.  Debra had an ugly three lined scar on her arm. Maybe the dragons scratched her arm before she got away.

When the fire was gone. Debra’s mother Ricochet was about to go away. Right before they left Debra asked, “Can we go check if they were all blown up?” Debra’s mom answered, “Ok, but let me go. I will drop you on the floor.” Later, Ricochet went down into the secret hideout. She looked around. There were dead dragon bodies everywhere.

She blew a sigh of relief. There would be no more war with the dragons. Suddenly a white dragon with blue stars on his wings pounced her.  The dragon scratched her wings. Then the dragon bit the wings. Ricochet had great pain. She tried to fly away, but she could not fly away. The dragon bit her chest. She let out a loud cry of pain.

Chapter 9

Debra heard the scream. It was like a monkey screaming in her ear. It was her mother’s scream. She remembered that. It was when her mother was holding a watermelon, and she dropped it on her feet. Her mother screamed loudly, and tonight she heard the same scream.

Debra ran down the hill. And she saw her mother dead at the dragon’s feet. It was a white dragon and blue stars. She never saw this one in the group that surrounded her. Could this be the dragon Deathhawk turned into? Debra asked, “Who are you? Are you Deathhawk?” “My dear, yes I’m Deathhawk and yes I killed your mother.” Deathhawk answered

Debra felt a sudden power rushing in her body. What is this power? She thought. Debra looked at her arm. It was bubbling with power. She ran at the dragon, and hit it full force.  The dragon stumbled to the ground. Debra’s power faded. She carefully checked the dragon and found no pulse. The last dragon has been destroyed.

Chapter 10

7 Days Later

Debra was still mourning her mother. She was with her friends, and the war was over. She was happy with her friends, but she also didn’t know who to live with. She thought about living with her granny so she would.

When she got to her granny she asked, “ Are you a Fain also?” “Well, I’m one of the last too,” Granny answered. Debra asked,

“Can you teach me how to fly like my mother?” Granny answered, “ Why yes, my dear.”

Debra’s granny took her to the top of the building and yelled, “Just imagine yourself a bird then jump!” Debra imagined herself as a phoenix then jumped. She looked down after a minute, and she saw herself over the ground flying. She flew for five miles. She could also see the sea. It was the best feeling ever.
