Bill Gates
William Henry Gates III was born on October 28, 1955. He is an American business tycoon, software developer, investor and philanthropist. He is best known as the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation. During his career at Microsoft, Gates served as chairman, chief executive officer (CEO), president, and chief software architect, while being the largest individual shareholder until May 2014.

Gates was primarily responsible for Microsoft’s product strategy from the company’s inception in 1975 to 2006. It gained a reputation for remoteness from others; in 1981, the industry leader complained that “Gates was known for not being available on the phone and not returning phone calls.” The CEO of Atari recalled that he showed Gates a game and beat him 35 out of 37 times. When they met again a month later, Gates “won or tied every game. He had studied the game until he solved it. It’s a racer.”

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
Gates studied the work of Andrew Carnegie and John D. Rockefeller and donated some of his shares to Microsoft in 1994 to form the William H. Gates Foundation. In 2000, Gates and his wife combined three family foundations, and Gates donated $ 5 billion to form the Bill & Melinda Gates Charitable Foundation. The foundation gives benefactors access to information that shows how his money is being spent, unlike other large charities such as the Wellcome Trust. Gates, through his foundation, also donated $ 20 million to Carnegie Mellon University for a new building, which will be named the Gates Center for Computer Science, which opened in 2009.

Personal donations
Gates has also provided personal donations to educational institutions. In 1999, Gates donated $ 20 million to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to build a computer lab called the William H. Gates Building, designed by architect Frank Gehry. While Microsoft has previously provided financial support to the institution, this is the first personal donation received from Gates.
Since 2005, Gates and his foundation have been interested in solving global health problems. For example, they announced the “Reinvent the Toilet Challenge”, which aroused considerable media interest. To raise awareness of sewage and possible solutions, Gates drank water that was “produced from human feces” in 2014 – in fact, it is produced by a wastewater treatment process called the Omni Processor.
In November 2017, Gates said he would donate $ 50 million to the Dementia Detection Fund, a venture capital fund seeking treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. He also promised an additional $ 50 million for start-ups working on Alzheimer’s research. Bill and Melinda Gates have said they intend to leave their three children $ 10 million each as their inheritance. With only $ 30 million stored in the family, they are expected to distribute about 99.96% of their wealth. On August 25, 2018, Gates distributed $ 600,000 through his foundation through UNICEF, which helps flood victims in Kerala, India.

Why did you choose this person in them, whom you specifically admire in your project?
He is one of the most famous entrepreneurs and pioneers of the microcomputer revolution of the 70s and 80s. I admire his work and intellect. It changed the world forever, and its Microsoft Windows environment became the main platform for any other IT expert to develop and build software. In 1994, Bill bought Leonardo da Vinci’s Codex Leicester for over $ 30 million as part of his writing and scientfit ideas. Only someone with a heartfelt love for science can spend this much money to preserve the scientific knowledge that our ancestors collected.
