How do I fix the Garmin Express “Not Finding Device” error?

Garmin Express an application software, introduced by Garmin company is basically implemented for map updation, software modernization and device registration. It can be used with compatible GPS devices. There are many Garmin fitness devices in the market. The common thing is in them they can communicate with your personal computer  via Garmin Express software. Garmin Express is not compatible with all types of operating systems. It only works with Windows and MacOS/OSX.

When Garmin Express is unable to find your Fitness Device

a)Windows Troubleshooting 

• Confirm about the Garmin Express Application is up to date

1. First Open Garmin Express
2. Then Select Settings  (top right)
3. Then Select  About
4. Select  Check for updates to Express
5. Finally ,Select Install Now if it is on display

• Confirm about your device displays the USB connection icon

Garmin fitness devices will display a USB or eject icon on the screen( as shown here) during being connected with a computer

The  device is not displayed as being connected to computer

To solve your problem you can follow the below steps:

1. Discard  any damage to the cable being used and ensure the contact points on the device are clean and clear of debris or corrosion.

1. Then Restart the computer and try again
2. Then Restart the device and try again
3. Try a different USB port

• Try to avoid  to connect through a hub,cable,or any peripheral devices
• If you are using a computer tower, try the USB ports on the back of the tower
