The Amazing Amazon

Today I decided to go on a trip to the Amazon rainforest with my friends, and Ed Stafford.

These days I am planning a trip to amazon rainforest. I must decide what I exactly need to take with me. I am expecting this expedition to be not easy but challenging. I have to take the following supplies with me: a tent, a sleeping bag, canned food and other things that don’t get spoilt quickly. We found out that walking there is very difficult because most of the area is very muddy so we will need boots.  In addition, a first aid kit, a mosquito spray and medicine are compulsory. I have to be protected and be ready to provide first aid, because this area is known for its poisonous plants and creatures. We learned our walking route, and decided to bring mountaineering equipment. We also brought walkie-talkies, in case we will get lost.

After a whole month of preparation for the trip, we arrived to the Amazon rainforest. As we expected the whole area was very muddy.

The sunset was very beautiful. When it got dark, we took out our flashlights and kept walking. The forest is very scary at night. We decided to stop walking and go to sleep. We set a campfire and took the sleeping bags out. A long journey awaits for us and we must be prepared.

We have been traveling through the jungle for more than a year. The place is so beautiful that we don’t stop wondering. There is a variety of trees, flowers and herbs. All of them are colorful and we enjoy the nature so much. We are used to live in nature and walking a lot, but miss our families and homes. However, not everything is easy. Each time we come to the river we face many difficulties. The river is full of water and it is really hard to cross it. We found a boat to get to the opposite side of the river and suddenly we saw a huge and scary shark in the water. Thank goodness, we were quick and succeeded to escape from the shark. Unfortunately, the boat was taken by the waves and we lost it. We were in a real trouble, because we couldn’t cross the river and get help since the phones don’t work in the jungle. Fortunately, we met a group of travelers who told us that there was a bridge across the river in two days walk from the place of the accident. We were so exhausted but there was no choice, and we kept on moving. We were happy to reach the bridge and cross the river. We will never forget this adventure.

We, finally, came back home after a long journey. l missed my family so much and especially my dog. Although all the challenges and difficulties that happened to me during the journey, I enjoyed it very much and I would definitely go again to Amazon, because it was an unforgettable and unusual experience. I got to know a new world and I learned to survive by myself. Overall, the trip was great. Just for the next time I would take a flashlight with me because many kinds of animals came there at night and made me scared of them. This trip cost a lot of money, but it was worth it because of the unforgettable experience I had. Money can’t buy me friendship, love and loyalty, but it can help make my dreams come true, like it happened during this wonderful journey.
