Once upon a time there was a young boy named Aeolus. Aeolus lived with his family in the desert far away. He was the son of a shepherd, youngest of 10 brothers. Aeolus was a very shy and quiet boy.  He spent his days helping his father with the herd in the hot desert and dreaming of traveling far away to a cooler place and meeting new people. He was bored and sad. The desert was so hot even in the evenings and he never got used to it.  there weren’t many people that lived in that area because it was so hot. Aeolus wanted to leave but knew it will make his father very sad so he stayed. But his father loved the desert and his animals and sons but most of all he loved Aeolus, and Aeolus loved him.

One day a new family passed through the desert looking for food and water. Aeolus saw them and even though  he was very shy, he decided to go and talk to them. When he got closer he suddenly saw the most beautiful girl he ever saw. She had big grey eyes  and black long hair. Aeolus could not stop looking at her.

He walked to the old man who was her father and asked if he could help them. The old man thanked Aeolus and told him that they came from far away looking for food and water. Aeolus told the man to follow him and took the family to the small lake where his family lived. Aeolus’ father welcomed the old man and his family and suggested they stay with them.

The old man decided to stay there with his family for a while and that made Aeolus very happy.

One day Aeolus woke up and didn’t see Aella. She didn’t sit on the rock and he couldn’t find her anywhere. He waited till the evening but Aella didn’t come back. He decided to look for her. He called her name and walked in the desert. It was dark but he knew the desert well. He searched all night but didn’t find her. He had to come back to help his father in the morning but when it was evening he went again to look for her. Aeolus started running so he will get far and maybe find her but return home in the morning.

He never found her but didn’t stop running and looking. He ran so fast that his body created a strong wind in the desert every evening. The wind stopped when he came back home every morning.

The legend says that Aeolus is still looking for Aella. Because of him the desert became cool at night and the sound of the wind is Aeolus calling her name.

Aeolus and Aella made the desert a more pleasant place to live in.
