Join KidLit411. and visit their website for tons of information and instruction. There are mountains of information and insight on Harold Underdown’s website, THE PURPLE CRAYON.
Read current and classic children’s books. What makes them work? Use them to inspire your own writing.
Find a critique group, at least at your level.
Attend conferences and sign up for Zoom webinars. Especially free ones.

Do I feel for your characters? Empathy is key.

Read as many children’s books as you can. If you cannot, there are many videos that give you an idea of what’s out there. I have put together five ebooks with many such videos. The ebook on the opposite page links to the other ebooks in the series.
