Ourboox is the simplest platform for creating picture e-books. On any page you can add either text, or choose the artwork and add a picture (jpeg, png) or gif.
The square books on Ourboox are square. So if you add a rectangular unsquare photo, it will be ‘squarified’. This distorts rectangular pictures, of course.

There is a simple way to rectify this, though.
The first step is to create an empty page, by adding a ‘new page’, or clicking on the + on the right in the editor.
(This trick may not work on the MacBook, though).
The next step is to choose the artwork option and add a rectangular picture, as normal. It will be distorted, of course.

But if you drag it into the empty page which you have created in the editor, when the + sign appears you can let go, and it will appear on the previous page, as a rectangular picture.

You can resize the picture (by clicking on it and moving the corner) and even add text on the same page. But make sure to press return when you move a picture after adding text (otherwise the + sign won’t appear and it won’t ‘stick’ on the page).
And if this doesn’t make sense or you need help, my e-mail is [email protected] and I will be more than happy to clarify.
