The revolution had started. All most all of the districts participate against the Capitol, led by District 13 and its President Alma coin. Katniss, Gale, Finnick, and others from district 12 find shelter with them. After Katniss saw the destruction of her district, she agrees to become the “Mockingjay”. All the evictors rescued from the Capitol but Peeta has been brainwashed to kill Katniss. She decided to go to the Capitol to kill Snow. As she got closer to Snow’s mansion, she saw a group of Capitol children. Two bombs one after the other killed all the children and the medical team, that include Katniss sister.

When she meets Snow by chance, he claims that it was Coin who dropped the bombs. At the execution of Snow Katniss shot an arrow to kill Coin.

I choose this cover because the bombing of the mansion symbolizes the end of Snow and Coin the end of corruption, all of the killing, all the secrets, that occurred in Panem. it also symbolizes the beginning of a new era. Also I liked the part when the hovercraft dropped the 2 bombes that killed all the children and Katniss sister, that is why I added the bombs.

Katniss Everdeen

In the first book we are told she has olive colored skin, gray eyes and black hair. In this book Katniss is more active, she wanted to be sent to the war zone at district 2. She also told her unit that Coin sent her to kill Snow (that was a lie). She is more decisive, she knows whom she wants, whom she needs, and she acts on it.

She wakes up to the truth, in this part Katniss is no longer an innocent girl. She understood that’s Snow is not the only evil and corrupted leader in her life.

For the first time Katniss with full awareness decides for herself what her destiny will be, she shout her arrow throw the right person

Gale Hawthorne

In the first book he was describe as an older boy (2 years older than Katniss) with dark hair, olive skin and gray eyes. He is Katniss hunting partner, she left him to take care of her family in the first 2 games. Now Gale is her partner at war. His hunting skills are now used to hunt the Capitol supports, he used a wolf trap to trap in citizen from district 2. He also became all most the right hand of Coin, in every decision Coin made regarding to district 1 and 2 Gale was there.

He still feels responsible towards Katniss family, he felt guilty after the bombing that killed Katniss sister. He said it was his responsibility to look after her sister.

President Alma Coin

was the president of district 13 and the leader of the second Rebellion against the capitol. We don’t know anything about her early years. When Katniss was awakened at district 13 her sister told her that Coin’s husband and daughter died during an epidemic that broke out many years ago. Coin known to be in control, when her district was bombed by the capitol hovercrafts she stayed in control and calm. She is a good strategist, when she realized the hovercrafts aren’t bombing strategic areas, she holds her attacks. She appears to be kind and caring towards Katniss, but she was only meaning to an and, she used Katniss to clear her own path to power. And this is why Elma Coin his my least favorite character.

I don’t recommend reading. I found the book to be long and boring. However I found the characters to be well written, I like all the action parts. I love reading the war parts such as when Katniss, Peeta, Gale, finnick and the others members were down in the sewage and they fought the mutations. Although the book was long I found it very interesting to read a book that all the main characters are teenagers. So if you find yourself with nothing else to do, your phone is dead and there is no wifi on I still don’t recommend you to read this book.
