A bit of history…

The London Zoo was founded in 1828 by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles. Initially, the collection was collected solely for scientific purposes. But already in 1847, the zoo opened its doors to the mass visitor. In 1849, snakes were brought to the London Zoo – the first serpentarium in the world accessible to tourists was formed. The year 1853 was marked by the opening of the first-ever aquarium. Of course, he appeared in the London Zoo. Insects at the London Zoo are presented to visitors for the first time in 1881 with the opening of the insect. Now there is a huge variety of tropical butterflies.
