I'm a writer, scientist, musician, inventor and lecturer. During the daytime I am advisor to the President of Shenkar College. In the evening I write children's books, satire, and "how to" manuals ("Mel's ten tips). I'm co-founder of Ourboox and married to Ourboox CEO Shuli Sapir-Nevo.
He is bringing entrepreneurship to Tel Aviv University. It’s almost a contradiction in terms. But miracles do happen, especially here.
People are waiting politely in line. That’s a kind of a miracle in this country, doncha think?
The vibe here is amazing. People are inventing incredibly useful tools to propel humanity into the 21st century. Here is my friend Avigail Perl with “Cupcare”. I’m not a woman, so I don’t know whether this is the next big thing.
There is even a football (soccer) squad here. They might have invented a new kind of net. Or not.
I find out they are VCs. I am disappointed.

I bumped into the lovely Keren Brown. Actually, she was more Keren Green than Brown.
She promised to share her remarkable social skills with Ourboox, as she has in the past. That alone made it worth the entrance fee.
Tal is working for Memeni. It’s an online web platform that develops and cultivates communities for innovation, with networking and collaboration tools.
I think that Memeni is cool. I know that Tal is.
Here is another Tal. She is helping a company that invented a method for one-time safe transactions using some kind of credit card technology. She is amazing. I hope she will help me too!!
Sorry, but it’s time for food!
Time to sample the samples! Feed me! Now!
But alas, they were only plugging their food-saving start-up. Should have known that there are no free meals.
After lunch I made a last tour round the exhibits.
Suddenly I heard people talking in a strange language. It was Greek to me
It was indeed Greek! There were four (or more) Greek startups, brimming with energy, and great ideas.
I befriended Leo. He wrote a book. I was happy.
And who says that TAU can’t host cool innovation events? We can all draw inspiration from the great team at Startau.
