Once upon a time there were a lot of chickens. They weren’t free in the nature, they were kept and locked in a cage inside a slaughterhouse.

Every evening the butcher took one randomly selected chicken and slaughtered it. He kept doing it for almost a year until one day a group of vegan demonstrators came and told the butcher: “Shame on you! Every day you are ending a life of a poor creature that can’t stand for itself”. The  butcher couldn’t believe what he heard. He told them: “Chickens are tasty and deserve to be eaten”.

The vegans  immediately started freaking out. They didn’t understand how a man could say such a thing. “Life is life and it doesn’t matter how tasty it is, imagine being the chicken, getting killed and slaughtered to little pieces of schnitzel only to enjoy a good tasty meal”.

The butcher’s mindset changed. He wasn’t proud of himself and he even thought for one slight moment to release the chickens but that wasn’t enough. No talking was about to change what the butcher thought about chickens and other animals. The only thing that got changed is his passion to kill chickens. He got angry and mad. The only thing that would calm him down was a good fresh schnitzel but he didn’t have one so he got more angry and deadly.

The chickens heard the conversion and Pickles, who was the leader of the group, wanted to do something about it. He had dozens of ideas but there was one idea that he liked the best: to escape.

Many chickens heard the rumor about the hole in the door. The rumor said that there was a small hole but big enough for a baby chicken to fit in.  No mother wanted her baby to do this task. No one wanted to jump out of the cage except Chicken Tiras who was Pickles’ best friend.

Chicken Tiras was a very small but brave chicken, he was the best chicken for this task. On the morning Pickles and Chicken Tiras were planning the escape, they went to the small hole and then Chicken Tiras jumped through it and started walking towards the main switch to open all the cage doors. In a moment all the cage’s doors opened and the chickens escaped.

For a week they were looking for a new home. Eventually they found an animal shelter runned by the same people who gave them the idea to escape. After a week that the chickens were guests at the animal shelter the vegans offered them to join a vegan protest. The chickens were happy to be part of that.

After a long time pickles got what he wanted all this time, he earned his freedom.
