The Simpsons Stories: Homer’s Taxi

by Darcy May Partridge

One Saturday morning, Homer shows Bart, Lisa and Maggie his new taxi at the front of his house. “I became a taxi driver since yesterday, and here is my very own taxi!” he said.

“I want to be a taxi driver one day.” said Bart, and he is thinking about being a taxi driver in Springfield. “I wouldn’t love being in a taxi.” said Lisa, and she was sad.

Homer, Bart and Maggie went inside his taxi. “Would you like to take you for a drive there?” he asked. “I want Mama.” she said. “Yes, please.” he said.

Homer drove Bart and Maggie to look at Springfield. “Oh, no! We left Lisa behind!” he said. “Oh, no, Bart! Let’s go and get her.” he said, and he was about to get Lisa from his house.

Lisa went into Homer’s taxi. “Now, let’s look at Springfield with you now, all!” he said. “Wow! Springfield is amazing!” said Bart. “I don’t like being in that taxi.” she said.

“I heard Maggie saying first words in the taxi earlier before we left Lisa behind.” said Bart. “Well done, Maggie! First words in my taxi!” said Homer, and all of them were proud of Maggie.

“Oh, look! There’s Springfield Elementary School!” said Bart. “Wow! That’s where we both go to, Bart!” said Lisa. Maggie laughed at lots of buildings in Springfield.

“Shall we go home now, Dad?” asked Lisa. “No. Let’s go to the Kwik-E-Mart first, then we can go home.” said Homer, and he drove the kids and Maggie to the Kwik-E-Mart to get a few things.

Homer, Bart, Lisa and Maggie went inside the Kwik-E-Mart. “Oh, my! I need some breaded chicken, a kids ready meal and a magazine!” he said.

“No. You can choose from some breaded chicken or a kids ready meal?” asked Homer. “Dad, I would like the kids bangers and mash ready meal and the magazine that I wanted, please.” said Bart.

Homer brought the things and paid it to the shopkeeper. “Let’s get back into my taxi and go home now.” he said. “I would really love my kids bangers and mash ready meal for lunch today.” said Bart.

Homer, Bart, Lisa and Maggie all went back to his house. “Let’s have some lunch now, kids. What would you like for lunch?” he asked, and he and the kids enjoyed going for a drive in his taxi, so he might be a real taxi driver in Springfield.
