The Simpsons Stories: Lisa’s Friend Martin Comes To Play

by Darcy May Partridge

One Friday after school, Lisa comes home in Marge’s car with Martin. “Now, Martin is coming to your house today, so be a good girl for me.” she said.

Lisa went straight inside the house with Martin. “Hey, Lisa. Shall we eat something?” he asked. “No, let’s play with my toys first.” she said.

“These toys are for girls, Lisa!” said Martin. “Anybody can play with girls toys. Look, here is my Sindy doll!” said Lisa, and she showed him her Sindy doll.

Marge came up to Lisa and Martin. “You can eat some snacks, but don’t eat too many please.” she said, and they went downstairs into the kitchen for something to eat.

“Sindy wants something to eat! She’s starving hungry!” said Lisa, and Marge began to cry. “Is Marge okay, Lisa?” asked Martin. “She’s just crying.” she said.

“Don’t cry, Mum. It’ll be okay.” said Lisa, and she dried away Marge’s tears with a hankie which was next to her right arm. “Thanks, Lisa.” she said.

Martin fed Lisa’s Sindy doll with a digestive biscuit. “Oh, wow! She likes her digestive biscuit!” she said, and she was proud. “Digestive biscuits are Sindy’s favourite biscuits.” he said.

Lisa and Martin went back upstairs into her bedroom. “We only ate some biscuits and drank some water, didn’t we, Martin?” she asked. “I forgot to eat some crisps!” he said.

“It’s okay, Martin! You can have a packet of crisps before you go home.” said Lisa. “My favourite crisps are Lays beef and onion flavour.” said Martin.

Bart was very cross when he saw Lisa and Martin in her bedroom. “Martin is my friend, for God’s sake!” he said crossly. “Don’t speak to me like that! That’s very rude!” she said crossly.

“Bart, Martin is Lisa’s friend. Next time if you see him, please can you ask Lisa nicely if you want to play with him is well?” asked Marge. “Yes, I can, Mum.” said Bart.

It was dinner time for Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Martin. “You and Martin have chicken steaks with new potatoes and peas, Lisa has a chickpea curry with brown rice and Maggie has a tray meal of fish pie for dinner.” she said.

“I don’t like brown rice.” said Bart. “You have your own dinner, a chicken steak with new potatoes, peas and gravy!” said Lisa crossly. “I love the chicken steak.” said Martin.

It was time for Martin to go home. “Are you taking Martin home, Mum?” asked Lisa. “Yes, I am. You all have to come in my car with me.” said Marge, and Lisa and Martin both enjoyed their playdate together.
