TED-Ed is an offshoot of the famous TED talks. Rather than videos of people, however, TED-Ed specializes in animated video lessons on a wide array of topics. The animated videos are called “TED-Ed Originals”. Each lesson is built around the proposal of an educator on a specific subject. If the TED-Ed team shows an interest, then the educator is asked to provide a series of drafts which are subsequently subject to editing and fact checking in the TED office. When the edited draft is accepted, it is turned into a video by the director and staff.
Once the videos are released, teachers from around the world can turn them into interactive lessons.
Here are two TED-Ed lessons that I’ve been lucky enough to participate in.
