There are all kinds of ecosystems for instance, the desert. Places that have deserts would be considered an ecosystem. For example, Madagascar and the Savannah Desert, but that’s not all there are still more pieces to the puzzle. There is so much fascinating info about the desert that people have discovered. Imagine Madagascar being cold, but how could that happen because the climate is hot throughout, well it can and mostly in winter. In the Savannah Desert, there are annual droughts. First, the east part of Madagascar receives much rain, brought by southeast trade winds. Then, the trade winds come from the Indian Ocean anticyclone, after trade wind Deserts are places of area with very little rain and high temperatures where trade winds occur. The Savannah Desert has about 79 inches of rain per year because of the climate.

Plants in the desert are trying to store every drip of water to survive because they depend on it. Very few plants that need water live in the desert. For example, the Baobabs tree is a tree which looks like a tree upside down, they have adapted to their environment by storing large amounts of water in their trunks. A Saguaro Cactus can grow flowers, when it is an adult it can be about 50 feet tall, and its life span is about 150 to 175 years. Barely any trees live in the desert because of the enormous heat that spreads all over, they and all other plants would have to depend on water and getting every last drop.

Some animals are ready to be extinct because of people and the desert. For example, the Gobi desert is the largest desert in Asia and there are only 30 Gobi bears left in the world, they’re all ready to become extinct. Kangaroo mothers are very protective of their Joey’s, that’s why mother kangaroos keep them in their pouch to be safe with them at all times. Giraffes get the best chow time because their long necks (2 meters long) and their mouth lets them eat leaves, giraffes can eat up to 75 pounds of leaves and their favorite tree to eat from is the acacia tree. Especially when food is scarce, giraffes get the most food all thanks to their necks.

Animals have different survival methods, they would also be lucky if they found an oasis.

The Savannah Desert and Madagascar are both deserts with tropical climate. Some animals have camouflage to protect themselves from predators.  Many plants can store water in their leaves, roots, and stems. The blazing, sizzling, hot, temperature is the survival of any living plant or animal they can survive because they would adapt to their habitat (environment) that is why they live in the desert.
