SECONDARY SCHOOL

CURRICULUM IN TURKEY

5th-8th Grades, prepared by the Turkish Ministry of National Educatio, raise the awareness of universal,national, moral, humane and cultural values and ethics as well as the competence in both oral and written communication skills.

It mainly focuses on values education. The key values that should be transferred to the learners in line with the learning outcomes are: friendship, justice, honesty,self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibilty, patriotism.

While choosing activities, teacher partners should take learners’ ages, psychological and sociological levels into consideration in selecting characters,texts, visuals to be used during the instruction process.
