As someone who is struggling with anxiety and depression, I can say with certainty that exercising in the gym has been a game-changer for my mental health. Over the years, I have experimented with different forms of exercise, and each one has provided unique benefits. But lifting weights is thw winner fo me.

First and importantly, exercising has helped me control my anxiety. When I exercise, I put less attention on the never-ending list of anxieties that might dominate my mind and more attention on my body and the motions I’m making. I feel more planted firmly, in the moment, and in charge after working out. Also, it helps in the release of hidden anxiety and energy that can build when I’m feeling stressed. I’ve discovered that when I include exercise on a regular basis in my routine, I feel calmer and more at ease all day long.

Second, exercise has boosted my self-confidence. I was really surprised by how quickly my body changed after I started exercising regularly. I reduced my fat percentage and increased my muscle percentage   These physical changes gave me more confidence, as did the feeling of success I experienced after each workout.
I started to see myself as someone who could set goals and achieve them, which was a welcome change from the negative self-talk I had been accustomed to.

My mood has been better after exercising. Exercise is the last thing I want to do when I’m depressed. Yet I’ve discovered that even a quick workout may significantly improve my attitude. Endorphins are feel-good chemicals that are released during exercise and can lift mood and reduce emotions of melancholy and anxiety. After working out, I’ve discovered that I feel more optimistic and energised, which enables me to approach the day with a more optimistic view.

In conclusion, exercising has been a crucial part of my path toward mental wellness. I can now better control my anxiety, feel better about myself, have better moods, and sleep better thanks to it. While there is no magic bullet for mental health problems, exercise may be a very effective technique for treating symptoms and improving general wellbeing. I encourage anyone who is having mental health issues to think about including exercise in their routine and to explore whether it could help them.
