To Educators:

This lesson is geared towards first grade.

Children become very curious about the world around them starting at an early age. They are aware of the obvious weather changes from hot to cold throughout the year, but it is important for them to understand why this happens. This lesson will teach kids about the four different seasons, the qualities of each, and why we experience seasons throughout the year. Teaching children about the seasons helps them understand the passage of time and teaches them about change. Understanding the seasons will help them better understand the world around them.
