A summary of the book

The story tells about a family with three children: Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis. They lived a happy life in London.
But one day two gentlemen came to the house and took their father. The mother and children were sad and .worried because they did not know where their father was.

Without the father, the family was poor and had to move to the country.

In the country the children liked to visit the railway every day.

In the end of the story the father came back to the family with the help of an old gentleman and they were a happy family again.

THE MOST INTERESING PART OF THE BOOK

The most interesing part of the book was when the a huge rock was falling down the hill. It fell on the railway tracks. The children wanted to stop the next train in order to save it.

they made six red flags and waved their flags and shouted loudly.

“What’s wrong?” shouted the train driver. Then he saw the big rock in front of the train.

“Thank you!” he said. “You saved us. “You are heroes!”

THE ENDING

I liked the ending of the book becaus I want the father back to his family.

A LETTER TO THE AUTHOR

Jerusalem, May 5th, 2016

       Dear Mrs. Nesbit,

My name is Or Shoshani.

I live in Jerusalem and I learn in Ziv High School.

I read your book “The railway children” and I liked it very much. I want to ask you some questions about the story.

Did the story really happened?

Is the story based on your life or perhaps about a friend’s life?

Why did you write a story about a railway station?

Where do you write your stories?

I will be very happy if you can send me your answers to my questions.

I wish you much success in your stories and I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you very much.

Yours sincerely,

      Or shoshani

This song is connect to the story “The railway children” because both about longing to the father.

In the song the singer say “Where are you father?” like the story, the children say: “Where is father?”.
