Before reading this poem, think about all the times you haven’t listened to your heart.

Think about how you were too scared to chase your dreams.

Think about all the times you felt society stifles your passions.

Now, read these lines and let your heart be inspired.

Once you tried to meet your goal,

No matter what it takes up from your soul,

You feel relief goes through your veins,

Like you have been freed up from their chains.

They who always ask you to cave,

Stick to their plan, be their slave,

Let them suffocate your dream,

What does it matter, you go with the stream.

If you go, you might have money,

You might be respected around.

But will your soul feel complete

With what you do on the ground?

What is more important, you surely ask,

Try out your dream or put on a mask?

The answer is clear, I tell you my friend,

Try and fail is better than spend

Your whole life on society’s desires,

Find your own, don’t join the liars.
