Barack Obama

Barack Hussein Obama was born on 4 August 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He graduated from Columbia University 1983. He got married in October 3rd 1992 with Michelle Robinson while he was working as a community organizer. Barack Obama was the first African-American president of the United States.

 After that, his first daughter,Malia Ann was born in 1998. Then his second daughter, Natasha was born in 2001.  Soon they moved to Washington, where he played basketball. Now he spends his time helping people but not as much as when he was the USA President. He had helped many families and people and he had donated money to many poor countries…

Achievements

The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to President Barack Obama for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people”. The Norwegian Nobel Committee announced the award on October 9, 2009, citing Obama’s promotion of nuclear nonproliferation and a “new climate” in international relations fostered by Obama.

Obama accepted the prize in Oslo on December 10, 2009. In a 36-minute speech, he discussed the tensions between war and peace and the idea of a “just war”.

Obama is the fourth President of the United States to have won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obamacare

Obamacare is the slang term for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. It makes health care more affordable for everyone by lowering costs for those who can’t afford them. 20 million people gained health insurance coverage through the Obamacare. Before the ACA, some people with chronic health problems ran out of insurance coverage.

I have chosen Barack Obama because I think he is a very inspirational person and I think he had done so many good things when he was the President of the USA. He is very clever and he knows what he has to do and what he has done to make America a better place. I have also chosen him because he support the LGBTQ Community and he is not a racist or homophobic. He supports everyone without any exceptions.

I really admire Barack Obama for working so hard, for his respect and his limitless support on other people. He is a big inspiration to me.
