A Modern Book Creator
We’re building a completely new editor with features you’ve been asking for:
- PDF export for your finished books
- Autosave so you never lose your work
- A sleek, modern interface that makes creation even more intuitive
A Refreshed Website
The entire Ourboox experience is getting a design overhaul — cleaner, faster, and laser-focused on helping you create.
Better Infrastructure
Behind the scenes, we’re upgrading to modern tools and web standards so we can serve you better and ship improvements faster.
Simpler, Clearer Pricing
We’re introducing a new pricing model that’s easier to understand and built for creators who are serious about their work.
🔄 What’s Changing
To stay focused on our mission, we’re saying goodbye to a few features that no longer align with our creator-first vision:
- Public Book Library — Your books will still be live and accessible via their URLs, but browsing and searching through the website will no longer be available.
- User Profiles — These will be phased out as we streamline the experience. Premium Profiles are staying, for now.
- Book Support/Donations — This feature will be discontinued.
- Ads — We’re removing ads entirely from the platform.
💬 How This Affects You
If you’re a Premium user:
Nothing changes for you — and that’s a promise. Your subscription price stays the same, regardless of any future pricing updates. You’ll continue to have full access to all your books, and you’ll be able to create unlimited new books with all the new features we’re adding.
If you’re a Free user:
Ourboox is transitioning to a paid-only platform. However, if you had a free account before March 1, 2026, your account will remain active. Your books will stay live and accessible via their URLs, and you’ll still be able to edit, publish, or unpublish them. You just won’t be able to create new books unless you upgrade to Premium.
In addition, your profile page will no longer be accessible.

The new platform means your books will look more professional and provide a better experience for your readers — with no ads, improved mobile support, PDF export options, and a sleeker reading interface. We’re giving you what you need to confidently share your work.

For 12 years, we’ve supported Ourboox financially to keep it accessible to everyone. We’re proud of that legacy. But to continue growing, improving, and serving you with the modern tools you deserve, we need our community of dedicated creators to help shoulder the costs. This shift ensures Ourboox can thrive for years to come.
